sheet
The GigaEdge 8200 enable carriers and enterprises to efficiently and cost-effectively transport multiple different protocols on a single fiber strand or fiber pair using the latest Coarse WDM technologies. The GigaEdge 8200 offers the multi-protocol advantages of WDM without the complexity that often comes with WDM systems. Instead, simple, SONET-like resiliency can be applied to build up to a 16-node ring that is over 600 miles in diameter:
Carrier Class Optical Platform
- Fully redundant with no single point of failure (99.999% availability).
- Guaranteed 80 Km reach
- Network module that integrates power supply, CPU and transport (No separate chassis or modules)
- Redundant in-band management at each node (Does not require a separate management interface)
- Multiplexes the management channel (Does not burn a CWDM channel for management)
- Powerful active CWDM solution (Regenerate-Retime-Reshape)
Quick Install
- Setup and configuration of the GE8200 can be done in minutes
- No lengthy training required or complex configurations to perform
- No connector dB loss calculations to perform or power levels to manage
- Cisco interoperability and DCC communication
- Point and Click configuration
Superior Uptime & Reliability
- Environmentally hardened (-40C to + 65C) with no internal fans
- CWDM optical filters on the GE8200 are integrated into the transport modules
- Innovative closed loop liquid cooling system
- Software configurable (No dip switches or manual adjustments)
- Protocol agnostic tributary interfaces (No separate wavelength specific SFPs required)
Maximum Bandwidth Growth
- Highest Bandwidth CWDM system in the market with up to 20 Gbps per fiber pair
- 10 Gbps per single fiber (4 bidirectional 2.5 Gbps channels)
- Wavelength Re-use (eliminates stranded bandwidth)
Extremely Flexible & Modular Architecture
- Multifunctional tributary modules (TDM, ATM, IP, & SAN)
- No need to deploy separate parallel networks to accommodate customer requirements
- Lower Spares holdings (No wavelength dependent modules)
- Single Chassis Solution (1 RU) Ø Tributary interfaces that can reach up to 20 Km (OC-x, FTTx, GigE and SAN)
Effectively Manage Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Fully featured, easy to use remote diagnostics and fault isolation
- ITU and Telcordia Standards Based Performance Monitoring
- Optical power monitoring of all wavelengths individually and threshold crossing alerts when pre-set power levels are crossed
- Loop backs on each wavelength channel on the network interfaces. A faulty channel can be isolated down to a single segment between any two nodes.
