Coastcom's IAD options aggregate multiple channels of information that include voice and data across a single shared access link to a carrier or service provider PoP (Point of Presence). The access link can be a T1 line, a broadband wireless link, a metro-Ethernet connection, a DSL connection, or a cable (CATV) network. At the PoP, the customer's aggregated information is typically directed into a MSPP (multiservice provisioning platform) that most likely sits between customers and the core network. The IAD manages traffic streams coming from the customer side and forwards those streams to the PSTN (voice) or appropriate wide area networks (ATM, frame relay, or the Internet).
