The R410 is used in STM-1 and DS3 networks to provide full broadband
access and add-drop functionality with built-in full DS0 cross-connect
capability. The OC3/STM-1 port can be connected to OC3/STM-1 networks
or to an R428 OC3/STM-1 port. Three DS3 ports can be connected to
DS3 networks or to the R428 through a DS3 port. Supports Ethernet,
Telnet, and SNMP for remote control. Digitized voice is converted
between A-law and µ-law. Channel associated signalling (CAS)
is converted between E1 and T1 formats. The five ru-high rack mountable
chassis has two slots reserved for the main controller board, four
slots reserved for the OC3/STM-1, six slots reserved for DS3 ports,
and four slots used for circuit board 1:1 protection.
